Esron Karimuribo
Prof. Esron Karimuribo is Director of Postgraduate Studies, Research, Technology Transfer and Consultancy at the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) based in Morogoro, Tanzania. He is an academic member of staff in the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Public Health at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS).
He has been extensively involved in research activities related to investigations of diseases of domestic and wild animals as well as those of humans. His main interests are in inter- and cross-sectoral approaches of disease investigation and interventions such as one health and ecohealth fields, climate change, value chain analytical approaches and use of ICT for disease surveillance and development.
He also works with the Southern African Centre for Infectious Disease Surveillance; a World Bank designated Africa Center of Excellence for Infectious Diseases (SACIDS-ACE) of humans and animals, where he leads the programme on developing novel, technology supported diseases surveillance systems.
