STATISTICS FOR BEGINNERS (A PRACTICAL APPROACH) SHORT COURSE TRAINING

Venue: School of Agricultural Economics and Business Studies (SAEBS) Computer Room, SUA, Morogoro

Background Information: Linking classroom instruction with real life situations is pivotal for learners understanding and developing interest in various subjects. Being laden with abstract concepts, numerical subjects, for instance statistics requires an element of practical, not only to enhance classroom understanding but also foster transfer of learning in real world situations. That being the case, the course is targeted towards undergraduate students, as well as other stakeholders who have interest in practical application of statistical knowledge, to help them build a strong foundation in research.

Mode of Delivery: The course consists of a mix of theory and practice, the main focus being application of statistical software in data analysis based on various basic statistical techniques and interpretation of the results. The course consists of lectures, practical sessions and group exercises.

Suggested Fees: The  participation fee  for a training is  Tshs 250,000/= . This fee includes participation  to the seminar,  the documents, morning  tea, lunches and evening tea.  It  does not inlude, travel, accommodation and additional expenses.
 
Facilitator: Dr. Joseph Longo, a Lecturer in Agribusiness Management, at Sokoine University of Agriculture, Morogoro, Tanzania.  Joseph has graduated with PhD in Agribusiness Management from the Institute of Agribusiness Management, Rajasthan Agricultural University, in India. Who should attend? All interested participants, particularly undergraduate students who are about to start their Special Projects are welcome. Postgraduate students who would like to further fine tune their analytical skills are warmly welcomed too.
