Dr. Jonathan Stephen Mbwambo has joined the Eastern and Southern Africa Higher Education Centers of Excellence (ACE II) Project as its new Project Coordinator. He started work on July 01, 2018. Dr. Mbwambo takes over from Dr. Eugene Mutimura who stepped down following his appointment as Minister for Education, Republic of Rwanda.
Prior to joining ACE II, Dr. Mbwambo was an Assistant Director and a National Coordinator for the World Bank financed Education and Skills for Productive Jobs Program (ESPJ) in the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, United Republic of Tanzania.
Jonathan is on leave from Sokoine University of Agriculture where he works as a Senior Lecturer at the College of Social Science and Humanities. Dr. Mbwambo holds a BSc. In Horticulture, MSc. In Natural Resources Management and Sustainable Agriculture and a PhD in Development Studies.
He will be based in Kampala, Uganda at The Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), the Regional Facilitation Unit for the ACE II Project.
