Annual General Meeting of the Crop Science Association of Tanzania (CROSAT)

The Crop Science Association of Tanzania (CROSAT) held its Annual General Meeting in Dodoma, Tanzania, on September 22, 2022. CROSAT was founded in 1992 with the goal of bringing together crop scientists and other specialists in related sectors to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and ideas about the science of crop production and processing in order to ensure food security in Tanzania.

Professor Kallunde Sibuga, the CROSAT chairperson and a senior lecturer in the Department of Crop Science and Horticulture, Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) spoke about the meeting and the Association.

She said that the association most importantly works to link experts and various stakeholders in agriculture, particularly those involved in crop farming and processing.

Regarding the purpose of this year's meeting, Prof. Sibuga said it is to exchange ideas, develop strategies and plans on how to implement the goals of establishing the association so as to help farmers to produce profitably.

She used the opportunity to invite and exhort those who have not yet joined CROSAT to do so in order to forge a powerful organization for the larger interests of the Nation and the International Communities in general.
