Orientation seminar for researchers and research project leaders

Management of the Sokoine University of Agriculture has organized a special seminar for academic staff and research project leaders with the aim of increasing their knowledge and ability to carry out their day-to-day responsibilities, especially in compliance with university and government procedures, rules, and guidelines so as to achieve the intended goals

The training was held for two days on 12 and 13 April 2022, in the multipurpose hall at the Edward Moringe campus, and was attended by academic staff and various SUA research project leaders.

Leaders and various experts from the Directorate of Postgraduate Studies, Research, Technology Transfer and Consultancy, Directorate of Planning and Investment, Directorate of Finance, Directorate of Human Resources, Internal auditing Unit, Legal Services Unit, and Procurement Management unit provided presentations and knowledge that in one way or another was a great help to all in attendance, especially the young and emerging researchers.

Professor  Amandus Muhairwa

Speaking to the researchers, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Planning, Finance and Administration) Professor  Amandus Muhairwa urged them to be careful when purchasing various equipment for research and teaching activities, not to receive or pay for equipment that does not meet quality standards.

CPA Lusajo Kibonde

For his part, the Acting SUA Chief Internal Auditor, CPA Lusajo Kibonde spent a lot of time giving instructions on how to avoid mistakes that lead to auditing queries where he advised them to involve offices that are aware of the procedures to get proper guidance on how to fulfill their responsibilities.
