This week, the Sokoine University of Agriculture's community and other stakeholders from agriculture sectors are participating in the Sokoine Memorial Week to commemorate, celebrate and honor the life and legacy of the late Hon. Edward Moringe Sokoine, the former Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania who passed away on April 12th, 1984.
The Sokoine Memorial Week activities includes tree planting, scientific/academic presentation and exhibitions from within and outside SUA and the Agriculture and Agribusiness conference.
The main objective of the Agriculture and Agribusiness conference is to bring together strategic stakeholders of SUA to discuss and agree on how they can work together through win-win partnerships to enhance contribution of the agricultural sector to the national economy.
The theme for this week is "Repositioning Agriculture and Agribusiness for Industrial Development in Tanzania: Opportunities and Challenges".

The exhibitions provide a platform and opportunity for the Sokoine University of Agriculture units and other agricultural stakeholders to showcase achievements realized including technologies, ideas, discoveries and solutions that will improve agricultural, food and health sectors in Tanzania.
The Sokoine Memorial Week will be climaxed by presentation of the Sokoine Memorial Lecture on 12th April, 2018. All events and activities will take place from 9th to 12th April, 2018 at the main Campus, of Sokoine University of Agriculture in Morogoro Tanzania.
