SUA celebrates the public service week by doing Environment cleanliness

The Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) has celebrated the Public Service week by supporting the government's efforts to eradicate plastic bags in Morogoro Municipality whereby all staff participated in an exercise to clean up the Manzese market and the highway to the university campus. The event took place on 21st June 2019

Speaking after the completion of the cleanliness exercise on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raphael Chibunda, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (academic) Prof. Peter R. Gillah noted that the exercise will be sustainable as the part of efforts of ensuring that Morogoro Municipality and University surroundings remain clean.

Speaking before welcoming a guest of honor to speak, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration and Finance) Prof. Fredrick Kahimba thanked the Morogoro municipal officials for their supports during the exercise as well as the public for making this day great. He also commended SUA members of staff for their participation and presence pointing out that this activity has brought an excitement and impact of its kind to the community.

Sokoine University of Agriculture’s Chief Human Resource and Administration Officer, Mr. Peter Mwakiluma also used the opportunity to thank all members of staff for their participation in this year's public service week celebration.

The public service week is organized by the ministry in the President's office responsible for Public Service Management and Good Governance to celebrate the Public Servants’ day whereby all governmental departments, agencies and ministries participates. This year’s celebration was scheduled to took place from 17th to 22nd June 2019.
