Workshop on problem based and student centred learning approaches to SUA staff

The Enhancing Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Sustainability in Higher Education in Africa (EEISHEA) - https://eeishea.org  project workshop was held on 11th - 12th April, 2022 at Computer Lab (Video Conference Room), Solomon Mahlangu Campus. The two days’ workshop aimed at introducing instructors and students to Problem-based Learning (PBL) & Student - Centred Learning (SCL) and integrates sustainability aspects in teaching and learning. 

The facilitators of the workshop were Prof. Bente Nørgaard and Prof. Carla Kornelia Smink, from Aalborg University, Denmark. The attendees of this workshop included SUA academic staff, Quality Assurance Bureau (QAB) and SUA students.  

EEISHEA

Among the outcomes/outputs of the project include a newly approved curriculum by Senate waiting ICT Commission recommendation and TCU accreditation for Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Innovation (BSc. ITIN) developed by the Department of Informatics and Information Technology at SUA under auspices of EEISHEA project.  

The developed curriculum is designed to equip graduates with skills and competences for employability and self-employment through establishment of entrepreneurship mind-sets.

The EEISHEA project is coordinated by Professors Camilius Sanga and Anthony Sangeda and is designed to reform Higher Education (HE) through curricula that are highly relevant to the social and economic development needs of the society.
