The District Commissioner of Morogoro Rural, Hon. Mussa Kilakala, has called on all citizens to stop forest destruction and take part in conserving the environment for the sake of our generation and the next! π±
Speaking at the launch of the Natural Ecosystem Restoration Project in the Kimboza and Ruvu Forest Reserves, Hon. Kilakala emphasized:

"Preserving forests is key to national development. If we keep cutting trees for farming or other uses, weβll lose critical water sources and traditional medicinal plants.β
The forest is under threat from invasive species like Mimosa pigra.
β
Thatβs why the project focuses on planting eco-friendly trees and raising community awareness.
π Dr. Charles Kilawe from SUA, the project coordinator, shared that, restore nature in the most affected areas and strengthen local ecosystems.
Students Charles Malendeja & Miriam Mwashoma from SUA encouraged young people to be champions of conservation planting trees and engaging in forest protection.
π³ Over 180 SUA students, local villagers & partners came together to plant 20,000+ trees in Kimboza Forest! π
