Closing of annual Agriculture and Livestock conference and exhibitions

Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) has been commended for making Morogoro Region number one with the highest number of self-employed graduates due to the excellent education and training they received while at the University.

The congratulations were expressed by the Morogoro Regional Administrative Secretary, Engineer Emmanuel Kalobelo who was the guest of honor at the closing of three-day Agricultural and Livestock conference and exhibitions on Friday, 6th December 2019 at the Main Campus grounds.

"Last week on Saturday, I was the official guest at the Entrepreneurial Summit  which was held at Savoy Hotel where, among other things I met with SUA graduates who decided to use their education to employ themselves, and they no longer want to be hired by anyone ” Noted Eng. Kalobelo

Speaking before inviting the Regional Administrative Secretary to close the exhibitions, the Sokoine University of Agriculture Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Raphael Chibunda said that the aim of holding an annual Agricultural conference and Exhibition was to bring together stakeholders from Agricultural, Livestock, Fisheries and Forestry sectors so that they can discuss and agree on how they can work together to improve the mentioned sector so that they can contribute to nation’s income and livelihoods.

He said that the Exhibition provided an opportunity for the various Agricultural Stakeholders, Researchers, and Students of SUA to showcase the Technology as well as the results of various research and surveys conducted around the country.

The theme for this year's conference and exhibition was “Towards Tanzanian Industrial and Economic Development: The role and contributions of the Agricultural and Livestock Sector”
