The kick off meeting of the four- year and EU funded FOODLAND (FOOD and Local, Agricultural, and Nutritional Diversity) project was held on 19th November 2020 at the Institute of Continuing Education, Sokoine University of Agriculture.
The meeting was opened by Prof. Esron Karimuribo, Director for Postgraduate Studies, Research, Technology Transfer and Consultancy. It was attended by about 50 participants representing government institutions, the private sector and NGOs.
During the meeting, Prof. Nchimbi-Msolla, who is the Project Coordinator, made a presentation about the project including, among others, its objectives and activities.
Project partners - Helvetas and KTM- gave a profile of their activities. Also, the participants gave their views about critical issues that merit project intervention as well as the various roles that they felt they can play for the successful implementation of the project.
