Former Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Gillah honored for outstanding leadership

Retired Judge who is also the Chairman of the Council of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), Hon. Mohamed Chande Othman has commended the former Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Peter Gillah for the outstanding leadership, performance and positive contribution to the success of the university during his tenure.

The compliments came on Friday 14th August, 2020 at SUA Main campus during a short ceremony to congratulate Prof. Peter Gillah and wishing him all the best in his new life endeavors following his retirement from the position since 30th April 2020 after serving for 8 years since 2012.

Initially while greeting the Sokoine University of Agriculture community, Vice Chancellor, Pro. Raphael Chibunda thanked Prof. Gillah for his efforts and all that he has done and accomplished for the university while he was serving as DVC – academic and the institution will continue to remember him for his hard-working spirit, intelligence and daring.

Commenting on the achievements made under the leadership of Pro. Gillah, Principal of the College of Forestry, Wildlife and Tourism, Dr. Suzan Agustino mentioned the increase in the number of degree programmes offered at SUA and also university has received various awards and recognitions within and outside country as part of his contribution.

The event which was held at the Multipurpose hall and attended by SUA staff, students and various guests included also the farewell ceremony of the former Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration and Finance) Prof. Yasinta Muzanila as well as officially welcoming Pro. Amandus Muhairwa in the office of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration & Finance) and Prof. Maulid Mwatawala in the office of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic)
