Dr. Shedrack Kitimu from SUA highlighted that misuse of drugs such as incomplete doses and use without veterinary guidance is fueling drug resistance. Poor hygiene and consumption of animal products without observing withdrawal periods also worsen the situation.

Dr. Charles Msigwa (Meru District) emphasized the importance of proper record-keeping and correct drug use. The training also empowered women farmers (32% of participants) and agri-businesses like Sivat Agribusiness Ltd.

The training was part of the NANO COM Project, which aims to improve animal health and milk safety across Arusha, Tanga, Iringa, Mbeya, and Njombe.
