SUA Graduate Emerges as First Female Winner in Capital Markets Essay Competition

A graduate of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), Dorice Paul Boma, has made history by emerging as the first female winner in the essay writing category of the Universities and Higher Learning Institutions Capital Markets Competition, organized by the Capital Markets and Securities Authority (CMSA), Tanzania.

Dorice’s journey to success began in 2025 while she was still a third year student when she submitted an essay that demonstrated exceptional analytical skills and creativity. Her outstanding performance enabled her to stand out among numerous participants and ultimately secure the top position as the first female winner.

The awards ceremony was held at the Kilimanjaro Auditorium, located within the Bank of Tanzania headquarters in Dar es Salaam, with the Guest of Honour being the Minister of Finance, Hon. Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar.

In addition the winners received cash prizes and certificates in recognition of their excellence.

The competition which comprises both essay writing and quiz components, continues to serve as an important platform for equipping students with analytical skills, creativity and a broader understanding of financial matters, thereby preparing them to become professionals who contribute positively to national economic development.
