Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) has proudly emerged as the second position winner in the National Health and Environmental Sanitation Awards, under the Universities category for Mainland Tanzania.
The award was presented by the Minister of Health, Hon. Jenista Mhagama (MP) on behalf of H.E President Samia Suluhu Hassan, during the ceremony held on Tuesday April, 2025 at the Jakaya Kikwete Conference Hall in Dodoma.
Organized by the Ministry of Health as part of the National Health Week 2025 celebrations, the awards recognize outstanding efforts in promoting and maintaining health and environmental sanitation. SUA’s victory highlights its commitment to ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy environment for its students, staff, and the wider community.
This achievement is expected to further inspire SUA to continue strengthening its initiatives in health and environmental sanitation, and foster a culture of cleanliness and sustainability.
The celebrations were guided by the theme: "Where We Came From, Where We Are, Where We Are Going; We Are Building a Healthy Nation."
