SUA student wins ARSO Essay writing competition

Innocent James, who is a third-year Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences and Management student at the Sokoine University of Agriculture, has been announced as the 1st runner-up in Tanzania and 2nd winner at the continental level in the 9th Continental Essay Writing competition organized by the African Organization for Standardization (ARSO) and Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) earlier this year.

Mr. James was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation and 800 US Dollars during the ARSO General Assembly held at the end of June 2022 in Yaounde, Cameroon.

The main theme in this year's competition was “The Role of Standardisation in Promoting African Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Industries to Attain Self-reliance and resilience in Combating COVID-19 and Future Pandemics”.

The management and entire community of the Sokoine University of Agriculture congratulate Mr. Innocent James on this achievement.
