SUAMEDIA Journalist wins 2018 Agricultural Biotechnology Journalism Awards

SUAMEDIA Journalist Calvin Edward Gwabara has become the best and overall winner of the 2018 Agricultural Biotechnology Journalism Awards which is organized by Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) after defeating other 56 journalists in the competition.

The aim of the awards is to encourage excellence in science journalism and recognize the outstanding works in Science, Technology and Innovation specifically in promoting research outputs dissemination, which is one of the COSTECH core activities.

The event was held on Monday 27th August, 2018 at the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) Conference Hall and graced by Dr. Leornad Akwilapo, The permanent secretary in the ministry of Education, Science and Technology on behalf of the Minister for Education, Science and Technology Hon. Prof. Joyce Ndalichako (MP)

The winners of these awards are expected to compete with their counterparts in the Open Forum for Agricultural Biotechnology (OFAB) Africa Journalists of the Year Award in Burkina Faso, September 2018.
