SUAMEDIA shines at Biofortification excellence in Journalism awards

Once again, SUAMEDIA's correspondent Mr. Calvin Edward Gwabara has emerged the winner of the Biofortification excellence in Journalism awards in the Television Category. The prize and awards was provided on Friday 20th July 2018 in Arusha Tanzania by the Minister of Agriculture Dr. Charles Tizeba who was the guest of honor.

The awards which aimed at celebrating and recognizing journalists who report and create awareness on biofortification and hidden hunger in Tanzania involved participants from all media categories (TV, Radio and Print) whereby winner of each category received prizes in the form of a certificate and monetary term.

The Biofortification excellence in Journalism awards in the Television Category

 

The Biofortification excellence in Journalism awards is organized by the Building Nutritious Food Baskets Project (BNFB) under the International Potato Center (CIP) in Collaboration with the Government of Tanzania. The Building Nutritious Food Baskets (BNFB) project works to accelerate and support scaling up of biofortified crops to help reduce hidden hunger.

This is the second awards to Mr. Calvin Edward Gwabara in this year whereby the first one to receive was the winner of the Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania (EJAT) in the category of Agriculture and Agribusiness Reporting provided by the Media Council of Tanzania (MCT) in May 2018.
