Bachelor of Science with Education (Information Technology & Mathematics)

The programme produce professionally competent teachers in Computing, Information Technology, and Mathematics in secondary education and education institutions. These graduates are able to improved and transform secondary education through their managerial, administrative, counselling, entrepreneurship skills and student centered-teaching methods. The educator graduates from this  programme  are consultants and curricula developer and innovator.

LEARNING OUTCOME

Student who graduate from this program should be able to:

  1. Teach computer studies and Mathematics in secondary schools and Teachers Training colleges 
  2. Participate in research, consultancy and extension services in the relevant disciplines.
  3. Manage schools and perform other administrative duties 
  4. Advise and participate in formulation of educational policies  incorporate ICT 
  5. Develop attitude towards self-employment and be able to solve ICT related problems.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Two principal passes (4 points) in the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Advanced Mathematics, Com- puter Science, Physics or Geography OR Diploma in Education with an average of “B” or GPA of 3.0.
In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in two science subjects in the following order,

Chemistry and Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, Geography and Biology, or Geography and Mathematics; Chemistry and Physics; Physics and Mathematics; Physics and Geography.
