ABOUT PROF. S.W. CHENYAMBUGA

Born on 15th April 1965, Prof. Sebastian Wilson Chenyambuga (PhD) completed Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1991 at Sokoine University of Agriculture. Later on he obtained a Master of Science in Agriculture (Animal Production) in 1995 and PhD (Animal Genetics) in 2002 at Sokoine University of Agriculture.

Prof. Sebastian W. Chenyambuga started his Professional career at SUA in 1995 as a Research Assistant under the ENRECA project in the Department of Animal Science and Production. Prof. Chenyambuga was employed as an Assistant Lecturer in 2000 in the Department OF Animal, Aquaculture and Range Sciences and rose to the rank of Professor in 2015.

Prof. Sebastian W. Chenyambuga is a Professor in Animal Breeding and Genetics to date. Prof. Chenyambuga has published a total of 43 papers in Peer reviewed Journals and 37 papers in Conference Proceedings. Prof. Chenyambuga is currently serving as the Acting Head of the Department of Animal, Aquaculture and Range Sciences.

Prof. Chenyambuga is a member of the Tanzania Meat Board and currently he has been appointed to be the Chairman of the Tanzania Livestock Research Institute (TALIRI) Board. Also Prof. Chenyambuga is a Treasurer for the Tanzania Society of Production (TSAP).

Prof. Chenyambuga's current research focus is on Evaluation and improvement of Tilapia.
