Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program at SUA: Advancing African Linguistic Research and Mentorship

Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), through its Centre for African and International Languages (SUACAIL), is honored to host Prof. Deogratias Stanislaus Ngonyani from Michigan State University (USA) under the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program (CADFP) from June 3rd to August 13th, 2025. The visit is anchored in the collaborative project titled: “Collaborative Research in Language: Genetic Relationship of Nyakyusa, Ndamba, and Pogolo Languages; Grow Research Capacity and Output and Mentor Graduate Students in African Languages and Literature”

SUA Shines Globally, Ranked Second in Tanzania for University Excellence

Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) has continued to shine on the global stage after being ranked second in excellence among institutions offering  higher education in Tanzania, according to the latest statistics from UNIRANK. The rankings, released on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, by the US based platform that evaluates universities worldwide, indicate that SUA has improved its national standing from position 100 last year (2024) to position 90 this year (2025). Globally, SUA secured position 3,191.
