SUA Research shows that rats can detect tuberculosis in children with higher accuracy

Rats are able to detect whether a child has tuberculosis (TB), and are much more successful at doing this than a commonly used basic microscopy test.

College of Agriculture Conference and Exhibitions 2018

Event Summary

The College of Agriculture is organizing the second annual AGRICULTURE & AGRIBUSINESS CONFERENCE that will be held on 10 – 12th April 2018. During this conference there will be presentation of papers and exhibitions from SUA and other stakeholders from outside SUA. The theme of the conference is “REPOSITIONING AGRICULTURE AND AGRIBUSINESS IN TANZANIA IN THE 21ST CENTURY: OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES".

The main objective of this event is to bring together strategic stakeholders of SUA to discuss and agree on how they can work together through win-win partnerships to enhance contribution of the agricultural sector to the national economy. During the event SUA will also have an opportunity to share with participants its capacity, aspirations and challenges while stakeholders will be able to use this platform to present their general and specific research and consultancy needs. The event will also provide an opportunity for SUA and other organisations to promote their products and services to delegates and visitors to the exhibitions.

The Agriculture and Agribusiness conference will take place in conjunction with the Sokoine Memorial week 9 - 12th April 2018. About 300 stakeholders are expected to take part in this big event. They will include: representatives of agriculture related ministries, departments and agencies; diplomatic missions; international organisations; suppliers of agricultural inputs and equipment; processors of agricultural products; SUA alumni; NGOs; local government authorities; training institutes; and research institutions. Hundreds of agricultural stakeholders based in Morogoro and neighbouring regions are also expected to visit the exhibition part of the event.
