The overall aim of the programme is to produce well-qualified teachers in support of government initiatives in staffing secondary schools and agriculture related colleges with experts to man the teaching of science and practice of agriculture and biology and enhancing student’s interest in the displines of agriculture or and Biology and their motivation to pursue agricultural – related undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

The programme will allow the graduate to venture into further expertise and career progression in different postgraduate courses that are related to Biology and/or agriculture fields.

The graduate form this program should be able to:

  1. Teach Agriculture and Biology Science subjects.
  2. Mange schools and perform other administrative duties
  3. Advise and participate in formation of educational policies.
  4. Develop attitude towards self – employment.

Preparation to become a competent educator in life Sciences and food Security Technologies.


Two principal passes (4 points) in Biology and any other science subject OR Diploma with a GPA of not less than 3.0 in Agriculture, General Agriculture, or Education and O-level certificate or its equivalent with THREE credits or FOUR passes in relevant science subjects at O-level. (Out of the four subjects Biology must be one of them and passed at credit level)
