SUA praised for establishing a student-centered curriculum for B.Sc. Information Technology Innovation

Unique features of the curriculum for B.Sc. ITIN includes the use of student-centered Learning approaches where each semester involves a mini project for students to execute and foster practical skills. The proposed semester project intends to solve existing societal problems emanating from the IT industry. In so doing students will acquire not only skills but also competences.

East Africa Rice Conference 2021: Tanzania to be a leader in rice production

This was stated on 18th May 2021 by the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Prof. Siza Tumbo who was represented by Maregesi Geoffrey, the Agricultural Engineer from the Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Training, Extension Services and Research at the opening of the Regional conference involving various stakeholders in the value chain of the rice crop held in Dar es Salaam and organized and the Agricultural Policy Research in Africa (APRA) project of which the Sokoine University of Agriculture is a member.

PATRICK MPOMBEYE: Designer of the trap used to capture rats in the fields

​​​​​​​MPOMBEYE, PATRICK CLEOPHACE from Pest Management Center (SPMC) of the Sokoine University of Agriculture has developed a Trap Barrier System (TBS) for controlling rats and their effects on rice fields.
