Introduction
Office automation plays an important role in helping organizations to eliminate time-consuming and repetitive tasks. It unmoors the organization from paper-based manual processes, poor records keeping, and overstuffed filing cabinets and enables it to quickly access the information needed to make important decisions. Office automation also helps employees to improve their productivity and efficiency through the use of various computer machines and software.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe basic computer operations, the principal computer components and its peripheral devices
  2. Use proficiently the common electronic publishing software to perform a wide range of office tasks.
  3. Use electronic communication and collaboration tools to improve both front-office and back-office organization’s productivity.
  4. Apply office management best practices using modern technologies 

Content of the Training Workshop
The programme will focus on following contents:

  1. Overview of the computer, hardware and software
  2. Working with Windows 10 operating system
  3. Printing and scanning documents
  4. Prepare documents with Microsoft Word 2013
  5. Managing data with Microsoft excel 2013
  6. Working with electronic communication and collaboration tools (Email, Google apps, Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc.)
  7. Managing office operations with scheduling and task management solutions

Expected Participants

ICT Officers, Information Management Specialist, Information Technician, Content Managers, Office Management Secretary, Office Attendant, Student, Employee and Any person with the interest of learning computer.

Workshop Cost

The workshop cost is 500,000 TZS. Costs cover workshop fees, breakfast, lunch and certificates of attendance. 

Course Duration
The course will take place from 23rd – 26th July 2022 (4 days). 

Venue
The Training Workshop is expected to be conducted at Sokoine University – Edward Moringe Campus, Morogoro, ITCB Seminar Rooms.

Payments should be made through SUA ICT Consulting Bureau   CRDB Bank: 0150369072400 SUA ITCB Bank account. Bank payment slips should be presented during registration, ITCB will provide all participants with an EFD receipt.

Training on the Management of Computer Network Infrastructure

Introduction
The management of computer network infrastructure training course equips the IT technicians with the skills and knowledge required to specify, design, implement, configure, maintain and troubleshoot LANs in small to medium sized enterprises. This course provides a range of up-to-date information on standards and best practice techniques. The course emphasizes on hands on hence participants will conduct many practical exercises to reinforce the classroom based theoretical element. 

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Prepare Requirements and Designs for Establishing LAN for Small Organization
  2. Plan and Install Computer Network Cabling System
  3. Plan and Manage an Organization Computer Network IP Addressing
  4. Plan, Configure and Setup Computer Network Active devices (Switches and Routers)
  5. Implement Basic Security with Router Access Control Lists
  6. Implement Basic Computer Network Services

Contents of the Training Workshop
The programme will focus on the following contents:

  1. Requirements for Establishing LAN for Small Organizations
  2. LAN Design for Small Organization
  3. Computer Network Cabling System: Computer Network topology design, Basic Computer Local Area Network cabling installation.
  4. Computer Network IP addressing: Overview of IP addressing; IP addressing setup; IP address sub-netting
  5. Configuration and setup of Computer Network Active devices(Switches and Routers)
  6. Implementation of Router Access Control lists
  7. Configuration of basic Network services (Web, database, DNS, DHCP, etc.) using Ubuntu Operating System.

Any person with fair knowledge of computer networking

The Research Methodologies and Data Analysis training aims to develop Natural and Social Scientists to have thorough grounding in research, and so that they are equipped with the tools for collecting and analysing statistical data. Those completing the training will be well suited to roles within central and local government, academia and commercial research.
