During the event, the AAU commended SUA and other universities that ranked among the top 30 institutions in Sub-Saharan Africa.
In East Africa, SUA is ranked fifth, following the University of Nairobi, Makerere University, University of Dar es Salaam and Kenyatta University.
Out of over 1,000 student teams from 10 universities nationwide, only 30 were selected to reach the final stage. SUA Innovation Hub had three startups among the finalists: Snack Squad, Eco Mushroom Tanzania, and Zest Plus.
The Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in collaboration with the University of Dodoma (UDOM), Centre for
Competition, Regulation and Economic Development at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in South Africa and
Copenhagen Business School (CBS) in Denmark is involved in the implementation of a new research project
entitled: “Market Power, Climate Change, and Vulnerability in Food Value Chains in Tanzania (MAPOCAVU)”.
