A team of researchers and experts in nutrition issues in the country, led by the Sokoine University of Agriculture, met for a four-day training to build their capacity before starting a national exercise to make a rapid assessment of the causes and indicators of malnutrition and stunting in eight regions of Tanzania.
Opening the training, the Assistant Director of Nutrition Services from the Office of the President TAMISEMI Mr. Mwita Waibe said that the task given to the national task force is the result of the mission of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan who wants to reduce and completely end the problem of malnutrition and stunting in the country through detailed research and the answers will be given by the task force.
