Hon. Tone Tinnes Impressed by the Department of Model Training Farm’s Contribution to Students and Community

On April 22, 2024, Her Excellency Tone Tinnes, the Ambassador of the Royal Norwegian Embassy to Tanzania, paid a special visit to the Aquaculture, Dairy, and Pasture units within the Department of Model Training Farm (DMTF). During her visit, Hon. Tone Tinnes expressed her satisfaction with the practical skills imparted to students in Sustainable Fish Farming, Pasture Establishment, and Management. She commended the department’s efforts in preparing students to become self-employed entrepreneurs or effective Extension Officers capable of providing crucial advisory support to farmers.

Visitors from the WORLD FOOD PROGRAM (WFP) To SUA MODEL TRAINING FARM

On April 2nd, 2024, special visitors from the World Food Program (WFP) visited the Aquaculture unit in the Department of Model Training Farm, part of the College of Agriculture at Sokoine University of Agriculture. The purpose of the visit was to learn and see the best fish farming practices adopted at the Aquaculture unit as a means to enhance food security.

SUA – RUFORUM Partnership Engagement in Curriculum Designed, Development, and Review Workshop

The objective of the workshop is to share RUFORUM’s expertise in successfully enhancing curriculum design that integrates competence-based curricula, envisions transformative education, and competitive projects for Agri-food systems. Also, this workshop aims to develop an appreciation of SUA as a member university of RUFORUM networks and build a community of partners to amplify the potential impact of RUFORUM programs.
